Pirated word: Yahoo

A name invented by Swift in Gulliver’s Travels for an imaginary race of brutes having the form of men; hence transf. and allusively, a human being of a degraded or bestial type. (Cf. houyhnhnm.) Freq. in mod. use, a person lacking cultivation or sensibility, a philistine; a lout, a hooligan.
Another word with a dinstinct meaning well-known to all literate persons excluding computer nerds (who typically view it as a mild interjection -- with none of the weight of meaning given to the term by its inventor Jonathon Swift).

"Yoga" is an Indian (Asian) term meaning "union with God." It implies a spiritual path, requiring a commitment to living up to specific moral codes, devotion to God, and daily spiritual discipline, such as meditation and yoga postures for union with God. "Yoga" does NOT mean a bunch of women getting together to learn to tone up through sweaty postures and exertions. Give "yoga" back to yogis! Aargh!! submitted by Anna

This one drives me nuts. It is a contraction of "you are". Ex. You are going to the store = You're going to the store. However, many people, including several posts on this site, use the word "your" which shows possession and is incorrect. Get it right folks. submitted by Nique
