scrum
The rugby scrum is a carefully engineered human structure in which the power of eight large men is channelled and focused in direct opposition to the force of eight other large men as both groups try to secure possession of the ball in the middle. A malformed scrum can result in serious injury. American sports announcers frequently and erroneously refer to football and basketball dogpiles as 'scrums'. John Madden and Bill Russell... get it right!
