SPAM

SPAM: I must have just missed it because I canNOT believe I'm the first to submit this one to the pirate pile! Anyway, SPAM was introduced by the Hormel Co. in 1937 as SPiced hAM. It obviously had nothing to do with annoying emails! In 1945 Khrushchev credited SPAM with helping to feed the Russian soldiers during WWII and later former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher lauded the stuff as a war-time delicacy. Check out Hormel.com. (No, I'm not employed by this company, just thought it was a fun pirating trivia.)
