ground zero
The term _ground zero_ used to connote for certain people Hiroshima. I don't necessarily think it has been "pirated" in reference to the site of the WTC towers. I do think that its application signals an invitation to tap into nuclear anxiety. I'm not sure what affect this use of the term "ground zero" will have on how people respond to the dropping of the bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. To quote Walid Hamarneh: Globalization also entails that what were problems within national boundaries gradually became global. http://collection.nlc-bnc.ca/100/201/300/literary_research- ef/n28-n36/no36/articles/ForumHamarneh.htm
