What day are we talking about? This overused expression makes no sense. What is meant is "back in the dayS (plural)"
and should be followed by some modifying phrase like "when
men were men," or "when I was a kid." "Back in the day" when used alone is vague and stupid. While we're at it, let's do away with "Old school," too.
